Samadarśanam is
Hallmark of Realisation
Commenting on the Bhagavad Gītā verse 5.18 Svāmi Chinmayananda highlights "The wise cannot but see and recognise the same presence of Divinity everywhere. Equal vision is Hallmark of Realisation".
विद्याविनयसंपन्ने ब्राह्मणे गविहस्तिनि ।
शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः ॥ भ.गी.५.१८
vidyā vinaya saṁpanne
brāhmaṇe gavi hastini
śuni cai 'va śvapāke ca
paṇḍitāḥ samadarśinaḥ —bg.5.18
S. Radhakrishnan:- (18) Sages see with an equal eye, a learned and humble Brahmin, a cow, an elephant or even a dog or an outcaste.
The wise see the one God in all beings and develop the quality of equalmindedness which is characteristic of the Divine.
इहैव तैर्जितः सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मनः ।
निर्दोषं हि समं ब्रह्म तस्माद्ब्रह्मणि ते स्थिताः ॥ भ.गी.५.१९
ihai 'va tair jitaḥ sargo
yeṣāṁ sāmye sthitaṁ manaḥ
nirdoṣaṁ hi samaṁ brahma
tasmād brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ —bg.5.19
S. Radhakrishnan:- (19) Even here (on earth) the created (world) is overcome by those whose mind is established in equality. God is flawless and the same in all. Therefore are these (persons) established in God.
The state of liberation is one which we can attain here on earth.
Svāmi Chinmayananda:- It is said that one, WHOSE MIND RESTS IN EVENESS, gains the Divine tranquility of a God-man. ... Krishna vehemently asserts "HE INDEED RESTS IN BRAHMAN". ... Krishna gives his reason for such a daring assertion; he says "SINCE BRAHMAN IS EVEN AND EVER-PERFECT".
1300 years ago there was a Pallava ruler named Rājasimha. He was and recognized as parama brahmaṇya, parama māheśvara and parama bhāgavada. Rājasimha had nearly 40 years of peaceful, joyful rule.
He has built several temples in Kāñci, Māmallai, Panamalai and other places. An inscription by his son in Kāñci Kailāsanātha temple mentions that Rājasimha established krita yuga, mahā kṛta yuga (satya yuga), Golden Age.
yaṁ rājā rājasiṁha stanayam
ajanayan medinī vīrasimho
vṛttairaṁhonivṛttaiḥ
kṛtayugam aparam nirmmimāṇo
mahendram
By visiting the temples built by Rajasimha we understand peaceful and joyful rule he gave his subjects.
Let us enjoy and preserve the satya yuga (kṛta yuga) established by our ancestors.
